Renowned religious, social, and widely respected personality Haji Khalil-ur-Rehman Rahmani Targar has passed away, leaving behind a legacy of faith, compassion, and service to humanity. News of his demise spread sorrow throughout the region and among his admirers across the country.
His funeral prayers were offered in Targar and were led by his eldest son, Hafiz Hissam-ur-Rehman of Jamia Bait-ul-Islam. A large number of religious scholars, political and social figures, literary personalities, friends, well-wishers, and local dignitaries from across Pakistan attended the funeral. Participants described it as one of the largest funeral gatherings in the history of the area.
Addressing the gathering, religious scholars termed the death of Haji Khalil-ur-Rehman a great loss to the religious and social community. Speakers noted that his entire life was devoted to serving Islam, guiding and reforming the younger generation, and promoting the love of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). They highlighted his deep devotion to the Ahl al-Bayt and the Companions of the Prophet (RA), adding that his conversations consistently reflected a profound desire to attain the pleasure of Allah and the honor of meeting Him.
The deceased was the elder brother of renowned author Nimra Malik. He was known for his humble nature, gentle personality, generosity, and unwavering commitment to helping those in need. Throughout his life, he considered the hardships of others as his own and remained actively engaged in serving humanity.
Emotional scenes were witnessed during the funeral as many mourners were overcome with grief and shed tears over his passing. Despite their immense loss, his father and spiritual mentor Haji Nazar Hussain, his brother Shafiq-ur-Rehman, his sons Hafiz Hissam-ur-Rehman and Hafiz Zia-ur-Rehman Farooqi, and his uncle Maulana Fazal Hussain displayed remarkable patience and fortitude while comforting family members and attendees.
Religious, social, and literary circles paid tribute to the deceased’s lifelong contributions, stating that his services to Islam and society would be remembered for generations and that the void created by his passing would be difficult to fill.
