Canada’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Anita Anand, called on Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi on Sunday.

During the meeting, both sides discussed matters of mutual interest, regional security and the growing bilateral relationship between Pakistan and Canada.

Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir highlighted Pakistan’s perspective on global peace and regional stability, emphasizing the importance of cooperation and coordinated efforts to address shared security challenges.

The Canadian Foreign Minister appreciated Pakistan’s continued efforts and sacrifices in the fight against terrorism, acknowledging the country’s constructive role in promoting regional peace and stability.

Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening Pakistan-Canada relations and expanding cooperation in the fields of defence and security.
