In line with Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s people-friendly open-door policy, Deputy Commissioner Khushab Dr. Jahanzeb Hussain Laber held an Open Court (Khuli Kachehri) at the DC Office, where he personally listened to citizens’ complaints and applications and issued immediate instructions to the relevant departments for their prompt and effective resolution.
Among those present on the occasion were former Member of the Provincial Assembly Malik Karam Elahi Bandial, former Senator Dr. Ghaus Muhammad Khan Niazi of the Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N), as well as citizens and applicants from different walks of life.
Addressing the gathering, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Jahanzeb Hussain Laber said that the doors of the DC Office are always open to the public and encouraged citizens to present their problems and grievances without hesitation. He emphasized that resolving public issues on a priority basis is the foremost responsibility of the district administration and that no negligence or unnecessary delay would be tolerated.
He directed the Assistant Commissioner Khushab and officers of the concerned departments to ensure immediate action on public applications and to remove any obstacles or delays in resolving citizens’ issues.
The Deputy Commissioner further stated that the district administration listens to public grievances on a daily basis to provide timely relief. He instructed the concerned departments to submit implementation reports on the actions taken regarding the received applications within the stipulated time.
Reaffirming his commitment to public service, Dr. Jahanzeb Hussain Laber said that serving the people is the fundamental mission of the Government of Punjab. He stressed that all government departments must perform their duties with honesty, transparency, and a strong sense of responsibility. He made it clear that negligence, inefficiency, or carelessness in official matters would not be tolerated under any circumstances, and that the provision of the best possible public services would be ensured at all costs.
