CPI organized an awareness workshop to educate women about free government facilities, social protection programs, and the procedures for accessing these services.

The workshop, organized by CPI with the support of DD South Asia, informed participants about the free services and welfare initiatives offered by the Government of Punjab and the Federal Government, as well as the procedures for accessing relevant government departments. The event was held in Khushab city.

Deputy Director of the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), Kausar Parveen, and Tahir Khan, Tehsil Khushab In-charge of BISP, attended the workshop as special guests. They provided a detailed briefing on BISP registration, eligibility, enrollment procedures, and other benefits available under the program. They also answered participants’ questions regarding the scheme.
The workshop was attended by social activists, community representatives, and local women. An interactive question-and-answer session was also held, during which participants sought guidance on accessing various government facilities, welfare benefits, and public services.

Addressing the participants, Gohar Jamal and social worker Noor Jamal highlighted the facilities and benefits available to women through the Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal, the Health Department, the Education Department, and other government institutions. Political and social activist Tatheer Sabira also explained how women could approach relevant government departments, register complaints, and make full use of the welfare services available to them.

Participants observed that due to a lack of awareness and limited access to government institutions, many citizens—particularly women—remain deprived of their legitimate rights and available public services. They emphasized that such awareness workshops serve as an effective bridge between the public and government institutions and play a significant role in empowering women.
