Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Attaullah Tarar, has said political rivalry is the essence of democracy.

He was talking to newsmen after visiting a polling station established for a Kashmiri refugee seat of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly in Lahore today.
