Pakistan Maritime Security Agency has signed a landmark contract for the installation of Vessel Monitoring System on Pakistani fishing vessels.

The contract signing ceremony was held at PMSA Headquarters in Karachi.

Secretary Defence retired Lt Gen Muhammad Ali attended the event as the chief guest, while representatives of the federal and provincial governments and key stakeholders from the maritime sector were also present.

The Vessel Monitoring System will significantly enhance the safety and security of fishermen, improve maritime domain awareness, and support the sustainable management of marine resources.

The initiative is expected to strengthen monitoring capabilities in Pakistan’s maritime zones and contribute to more effective protection of national maritime interests.
