A distinguished literary gathering was organized by the Sargodha Writers Club at the Sargodha Arts Council in honor of eminent researcher, literary critic, and poet Prof. Dr. Shakir Kundan.
The event was attended by Dr. Shafiq Asif, Najma Mansoor, Zulfiqar Ahsan, Dr. Syed Murtaza Hassan Shirazi, Pir Muhammad Younis Khamosh, Abdullah Naeem, and Syed Saim Shirazi, who paid rich tribute to Prof. Dr. Shakir Kundan’s outstanding scholarly and literary contributions. The speakers described his research—particularly his work on the literary and cultural heritage of Sargodha—as a valuable asset to Urdu literature.
Addressing the gathering, Prof. Dr. Shakir Kundan praised the literary tradition of the Sargodha School of Literature, saying that the city has always remained a prominent center of research, literary criticism, and creative writing. He added that the contributions of Sargodha’s writers, poets, and scholars would always be remembered in the history of Urdu literature.
On the occasion, renowned author Najma Mansoor presented her collection of narrative poems, “Mukashafa – Dialogue with Gautam,” to Prof. Dr. Shakir Kundan as a literary tribute. He expressed his gratitude and appreciated the book as a significant contribution to contemporary Urdu literature.
