Deputy Commissioner Khushab, Dr. Jahanzeb Hussain Laber, paid a surprise visit to the hill torrent-affected areas of Wardachha, Korhi Wala, Wahan, and surrounding localities in Tehsil Quaidabad to assess the situation caused by recent heavy rains and flash flooding.
During the visit, he was accompanied by Assistant Commissioner Quaidabad Haseeb-ur-Rehman Gul, the Executive Engineer (Irrigation), District Emergency Officer Rescue 1122 Ali Hussain, and officers from the relevant departments.
The Deputy Commissioner inspected the affected areas on-site, reviewed the flow of rainwater brought by the hill torrent, and met local residents to learn about the difficulties and challenges they were facing. The Assistant Commissioner and the Executive Engineer (Irrigation) briefed him on the current flood situation, ongoing safety measures, and drainage operations.
Later, Dr. Jahanzeb Hussain Laber visited Government Elementary School Ahmadal, where he inspected the water accumulated due to the hill torrent. He directed the concerned departments to ensure the immediate drainage of water from the school and all other affected areas and to complete all necessary safety measures without delay to safeguard the lives and property of the public.
The Deputy Commissioner instructed all relevant departments to remain on high alert, accelerate drainage operations, and ensure the provision of every possible relief to affected residents so that public inconvenience could be minimized.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Jahanzeb Hussain Laber said that the district administration is utilizing all available resources to protect the lives and property of citizens and to provide them with every possible facility. He emphasized that extending maximum relief to the residents of Tehsil Quaidabad, particularly those living in Wardachha and other affected areas, is the district administration’s top priority, adding that all concerned departments are continuously monitoring the situation while remaining actively deployed in the field.
