Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has departed for Amman, Jordan, to attend a Ministerial Meeting on Jerusalem tomorrow.
He is paying the visit at the invitation of his Jordanian counterpart, Ayman Al Safadi.
The meeting will bring together Foreign Ministers of the Arab League and a group of Islamic countries, including Pakistan, with the aim of formulating a unified position on the fast-deteriorating situation in occupied Jerusalem.
The attending Foreign Ministers will also call on King of Jordan Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein.
Ishaq Dar will reaffirm Pakistan’s unwavering support for the Palestinian people and their just cause.
He is also scheduled to hold bilateral meetings with participating Foreign Ministers and exchange views on regional and international developments.
His participation is a manifestation of Pakistan’s principled support for the Palestinian people and its unwavering commitment to the establishment of an independent, sovereign, and contiguous State of Palestine, based on pre-1967 borders, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.
