Parliamentary Secretary for Information and Broadcasting, Barrister Danyal Chaudhry has welcomed the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement among Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye.
In a statement, he termed it as a major diplomatic and defence milestone for Pakistan.
Danyal Chaudhry said the agreement marked the beginning of a new era of unity, trust and collective security among the three countries.
He said Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif have taken a historic decision that would open new avenues for peace and stability.
The Parliamentary Secretary for Information and Broadcasting said the hard work, sincerity and exemplary leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir played a key role in making the historic defence agreement possible.
He said, under the agreement, an armed attack on any one of the three member countries would be considered an attack on all the three.
Danyal Chaudhry said the agreement would ensure that no member country would stand alone in testing times.
He said Saudi Arabia’s strong economy and leadership, Türkiye’s advanced defence technology and Pakistan’s experienced armed forces would collectively provide a strong foundation for peace and security.
He said the positive impact of the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement would not be confined to the region but would also contribute to promoting peace, trust and mutual cooperation across the world.
