Commissioner Sargodha Division Hafiz Shaukat Ali chaired a follow-up meeting on the agenda of the Divisional Coordination Committee (DCC), where progress on various urban issues was reviewed.
The meeting examined measures related to urban flooding, Suthra Punjab, waste management, traffic signals, encroachments and other civic matters. The Commissioner directed all concerned departments to ensure timely implementation of the decisions taken by the DCC within the stipulated timeframe.
He ordered effective measures to prevent urban flooding, improve cleanliness standards, promptly repair faulty traffic signals and take indiscriminate action against encroachments.
The Commissioner further directed the relevant authorities to issue notices to shopping malls and plazas to ensure compliance with designated parking requirements. He said that in case of violations, legal action should be taken in accordance with the law, including sealing the concerned plaza or shopping mall where necessary.
Hafiz Shaukat Ali emphasized that all departments must adopt a coordinated strategy and ensure effective field-level measures to provide citizens with a clean, safe and well-organized urban environment.
