A meeting of the District Emergency Response Committee for Dengue was held under the chairmanship of Additional Deputy Commissioner Headquarters, Jauharabad, Ghazala Kanwal. CEO Health Dr. Nabeel Saleem, District Health Officer Dr. Rao Gulzar Yousaf, Dengue Focal Person Rana Sajid, CEO Municipal Committee Khushab Sundas Rabeel, and officers from various departments attended the meeting.
Dr. Rao Gulzar Yousaf and Dengue Focal Person Rana Sajid briefed the meeting on measures being taken to prevent dengue, ongoing anti-dengue activities, and the performance of field teams.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Ghazala Kanwal directed the concerned officers to ensure that anti-dengue teams remain fully active in the field to prevent the spread of dengue. She instructed that wherever dengue larvae are detected, their immediate elimination must be ensured in accordance with the prescribed SOPs.
She said that the dengue season has begun and this is the most suitable time for eliminating mosquito larvae. She directed the field teams to conduct daily door-to-door surveillance and ensure effective monitoring of potential breeding sites. The Health, Forest, Environment, Local Government, and other relevant departments were directed to regularly monitor tyre shops, nurseries, graveyards, building-material factories, and other potential dengue breeding sites.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Ghazala Kanwal also directed the Education Department officers to improve the Anti-Dengue Users Progress in PEF schools. She further instructed all heads of district departments to ensure cleanliness and anti-dengue activities in their respective offices to effectively prevent the spread of dengue.
