On the special directives of Secretary Livestock and Dairy Development Punjab Ahmed Aziz Tarar, Director Planning and Evaluation Dr. Atiya Bukhari, along with a monitoring team, conducted a surprise visit to Khushab district to review the delivery of livestock services and field activities.
The purpose of the visit was to assess the timely and effective provision of livestock services, accuracy of official records, staff performance, and facilities being provided to farmers, besides obtaining direct feedback from them.
The team conducted a detailed inspection of the Civil Veterinary Hospital Khushab, where the outpatient department, vaccination, artificial insemination and ultrasonography facilities were reviewed. Relevant records were examined, while feedback regarding the services was also obtained from farmers through telephone calls.
Later, the team visited the Civil Veterinary Hospital Jauharabad, where the performance of the operation theatre and surgical procedures performed on animals were reviewed. The team also obtained feedback from animal owners regarding the quality of veterinary services.
At Miththa Tiwana, the modern mobile veterinary hospital vehicle and the facilities being provided through it were inspected. Subsequently, the team visited the veterinary hospital at Quaidabad and Amirwala, checked service records and met local farmers to obtain their feedback.
Director Livestock Sargodha Division Dr. Sajid Iqbal, Dr. Abdul Razzaq, Assistant Chief, Planning and Evaluation Wing, Livestock and Dairy Development Department, Additional Director Livestock Khushab Dr. Tanveer Ashraf Kalyar, Deputy Director Livestock Dr. Waseem Abbas and Deputy Director Livestock Dr. Muhammad Imran were also present on the occasion.
During the monitoring visit, the provision of livestock services, maintenance of records and field activities across Khushab district were reviewed in detail. Necessary instructions were issued to the concerned officers and staff to ensure effective service delivery and regular verification of records. The feedback received from farmers was termed important for further improving livestock services.
