President Dr. Arif Alvi has said the financial empowerment of women with equal access to education and health is vital in ensuring gender equality.
He was addressing an event titled “Rising Women 2023- Voices of Pakistan” at Aiwan-e-Sadr in Islamabad on Wednesday.
The President stressed the responsibility of everyone in maintaining gender equality and mentioned that several practices are contributing to discrimination against women which yield only despondency. He pointed out that Islam protects the rights of women.
He said digital inclusion of the women is the need of the hour and it could bring positive change in their lives. Dr Arif Alvi said Benazir Income Support Programme has been providing tremendous services to the deserving women.
