National Police Martyrs’ Day is being observed today to pay homage to services of police department.

The day aims to honour brave policemen of the nation and express solidarity with their families.

Special functions will be held across the country to appreciate sacrifices of police force for establishing peace.

In a message on Police Martyrs Day, the Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif expressed profound admiration and respect for remarkable sacrifices made by all police martyrs.

She said that there will be no compromise on honoring martyrs and Punjab government is utilizing all resources for welfare of families of martyrs.

The main function in connection with Police Martyrs Day is being held in Peshawar today to pay homage to police martyrs.

Senior Superintendent of Police Operations Kashif Zulfiqar and Director of Public Relations Department of KP Police Shahzada Kokab Farooq said in a press conference that Martyrs’ Day will be celebrated in a dignified manner.

Blood donation camps have been organized.

Hundreds of police officers up to the rank of Additional IGP have been martyred during the last two decades.

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor and the Chief Minister have paid rich tributes to the sacrifices of police in war against terror.

In his message, the Governor said nation would never forget services and sacrifices of police force for protection of motherland.

In his message on the occasion, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur appreciated the spirit of the police force and said that the government would provide them all needed help to perform duties in an efficient way.
