Minister for Power Engr. Khurram Dastgir Khan says Pakistani laws prohibit funding from foreign nationals and companies because this will lead to their vested interest in the internal affairs of the state.

Addressing a news conference in Islamabad today (Tuesday) along with Senator Kamran Murtaza, the Minister said the government will take action in accordance with the law following the verdict by Election Commission of Pakistan in the PTI prohibited funding case.

He said the verdict has proved the PTI Chief is dishonest as he concealed funding from the Election Commission and violated the relevant laws.

Senator Kamra Murtza said this is the first time that an important legal provision has been invoked. He said the Election Commission’s verdict mentions that not only PTI chief but other party members were also involved in receiving prohibited funds and concealing facts.
