Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal has underscored the need for more reliance on indigenous sources of energy instead of imported fuel.                                  

Addressing the concluding ceremony of a five-day workshop on energy in Islamabad on Friday, he said USAID has expressed interest in scientific and long term planning in the energy sector of Pakistan. He said a Memorandum of Understanding has been signed in this regard.                    

He said we need to integrate our energy management to optimize the investment in the energy sector in the future.          

The Minister said use of new ideas and knowledge of modern technology help every sector particularly the energy sector to get space in the global market.
