President Dr Arif Alvi has urged the Muslim world to utilize financial resources for providing quality education to youth.

Chairing the 31st Executive Committee meeting of COMSTECH, in Islamabad on Wednesday, he said Science and Technology are playing a pivotal role in development and could be used to transform the Muslim world.

He stressed to enhance intellectual capabilities so that indigenous knowledge may be produced in Muslim countries.

The President said that distance and virtual learning modes of imparting education should be further developed and adopted at a faster rate by the Muslim world to open the doors of high-quality knowledge, information and education, particularly in IT sectors.

He underscored that COMSTECH and OIC educational institutions could save their precious resources by imparting education and training to students of OIC countries through online mode of training and education.

He also underlined the need to develop close coordination among relevant organizations of the OIC countries to strengthen cooperation in mutual sharing of knowledge as well as with international educational institutions for improving their skills.

The President further appreciated COMSTECH’s initiative to establish thirteen institutions called Inter Islamic Networks in specified fields of Science and Technology in nine different OIC member states.
