Turkmen Ambassador Atadjan Movlamov called on Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif in Islamabad on Wednesday.  

They discussed ways to enhance and strengthen mutual cooperation in the field of defence between the two countries.

Speaking on the occasion, the Defence Minister said Pakistan continues to maintain and will further enhance cooperation with Turkmenistan within the framework of the Economic Cooperation Organization and other regional and international groups.

He further reiterated that the Memorandum of Understanding on Defence cooperation between the two countries should be implemented in true letter and spirit. He said Pakistan and Turkmenistan share common goal of regional stability, security, peace and thus both countries can closely collaborate in implementation of counter-terrorism measures.
