
In a significant milestone, the National Stadium Karachi has been fully prepared to host the Champions Trophy, with Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Mohsin Naqvi personally overseeing the project. The development of the stadium was completed in a record 120 days, with workers putting in tireless efforts day and night.
The grand opening of the National Stadium Karachi is set to take place tomorrow evening. The opening ceremony will feature an exciting lineup, including renowned singers Ali Zafar, Shafqat Amanat Ali, and Sahir Ali Bagga, who will perform live. The event will also showcase a spectacular fireworks display and light show, making it a night to remember. Entrance to the event will be free for the public.
The construction work for the project commenced on September 28, 2024, and was successfully completed by January 31, 2025. PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi expressed his appreciation for the collective effort of all the workers, contractors, NESPAK, FWO, and the entire PCB team. He emphasized that I am truly grateful for the hard work of everyone involved in making this project a success. The transformation of the National Stadium Karachi is a testament to the dedication and professionalism of our team.
Significant improvements have been made to the stadium, including the complete reconstruction of the Pavilion building, installation of new seating in all enclosures, modern LED lights, and state-of-the-art score screens. Additionally, barriers have been removed to enhance the viewing experience for spectators. Hospitality boxes have been refurbished, and a new ring road and pedestrian bridge have been constructed, providing enhanced access and facilities for fans.
