Minister for Information Technology Shaza Fatima has said the government’s focus will remain on emerging technologies to drive progress.

Speaking at an event in Islamabad today, she highlighted that ninety-eight of federal government and its ministries have successfully transitioned to the e-office system. She also pointed out that the judicial system is undergoing a significant digital transformation. She said the goal is to enhance transparency and efficiency within both the government and the judiciary through the use of technology.

The Minister for Information Technology said that the government passed a comprehensive AI policy in July this year, underscoring the government’s mission to empower all sectors through the integration of artificial intelligence. Under this policy, she said that one million youth will be trained in AI. She highlighted a ninety-one percent growth in the number of Pakistani freelancers and remote workers over the past one year, emphasizing that there is significant potential to further expand this figure.
