
Sri Lanka defeated Pakistan by 14 runs in the third and final T20 International to level the three-match series 1-1 at Dambulla on Sunday. The decisive match was delayed due to rain and reduced to 12 overs per side.
Pakistan won the toss and elected to field first. Batting first, Sri Lanka posted 160 runs for the loss of six wickets in the allotted overs. Captain Dasun Shanaka top-scored with 34 runs, while Kusal Mendis contributed 30. Janith Liyanage and Dhananjaya de Silva chipped in with 22 runs each.
For Pakistan, Wasim Jr claimed three wickets, while Mohammad Nawaz, Faheem Ashraf, and Naseem Shah picked up one wicket each.
Chasing a target of 161 runs, Pakistan managed to score 146 runs for the loss of eight wickets in 12 overs. Salman Agha led the scoring with 45 runs, followed by Mohammad Nawaz with 28 and Khawaja Nafi with 26.
Sri Lanka’s Wanindu Hasaranga was the standout performer with the ball, taking four wickets to seal the victory. With this win, Sri Lanka leveled the series at 1-1. Pakistan had won the first match, while the second T20I was washed out due to rain.
