
After a gap of 25 years, Sargodha successfully hosted a national-level junior squash championship, marking a significant milestone for the city’s sports history. The National Junior Squash Championship 2026 was organized in a spirited manner under the auspices of the Divisional Squash Association.
The championship witnessed enthusiastic participation from across the country, with 110 players competing in various categories. A total of 32 top-seeded players advanced to the final rounds. Matches were played at the Sargodha Squash Complex and the Gymkhana Club.
In the thrilling final, Malik Muhammad from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa delivered an outstanding performance to defeat Punjab’s Shah Nawaz Butt by 3–2 games after a closely contested match, thereby clinching the championship title.
On the occasion, players emphasized that such tournaments play a vital role in promoting squash and nurturing young talent in the country. At the conclusion of the tournament, medals and cash prizes were distributed among players and officials.
