
An important meeting of the District Peace Committee was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Bhakkar, Ehsan Ali Jamali, to review the overall law and order situation in the district. District Police Officer (DPO) Bhakkar, Shehzad Rafiq Awan, was also present, along with distinguished members of the Peace Committee.
During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on key issues including the maintenance of peace, mutual harmony, religious tolerance, sectarian unity, and effective coordination with law enforcement agencies. Addressing the participants, Deputy Commissioner Ehsan Ali Jamali stated that establishing sustainable peace in the district is the top priority of the district administration, and all available resources are being utilized to achieve this objective.
He said that the respected members of the Peace Committee have always stood shoulder to shoulder with the administration and expressed confidence that they would continue to play an active role in promoting peace and stability alongside national institutions.
Members of the Peace Committee who attended the meeting included Rana Aftab Ahmed, Syed Qaiser Abbas, Qari Abdul Shakoor, Syed Karim Haider Shah, Haji Mehboob, Malik Muhammad Ashiq Khokhar, Qalb Muhammad Ali Shahani, Sahibzada Abdul Haleem, Rana Muhammad Ashraf, Muhammad Abdul Rahim Rizvi, Qari Muhammad Ashraf, Safdar Hussain Asim, Muhammad Sharif Khan Awan, Malik Nazeer Ahmed Kheemta, Shaukat Muhammad Abu Bakar, Muhammad Aslam Mughal, Syed Mehtab Ali, Maulana Muhammad Safiullah, and Zubair Mahmood Mughal.
The meeting strongly condemned the Islamabad incident and expressed deep sorrow and grief over the loss of precious lives. Prayers were offered for the elevation of the ranks of the martyrs and for patience and strength for their bereaved families.
On this occasion, members of the Peace Committee reaffirmed their complete solidarity with the Pakistan Army and other law enforcement agencies, pledging full cooperation in the eradication of terrorism. They emphasized that exemplary harmony and mutual respect prevail among all schools of thought in District Bhakkar and vowed to preserve this atmosphere at all costs.
The Deputy Commissioner made it clear that strict legal action is being taken under a zero-tolerance policy against hateful, provocative, and anti-state propaganda on social media, and no one will be allowed to disturb public peace.
During the meeting, DPO Shehzad Rafiq Awan briefed participants on the comprehensive security arrangements made for places of worship across the district. He stated that a coordinated and effective security plan has been devised to ensure foolproof security for mosques, imambargahs, and other places of worship during the holy month of Ramadan. He added that security measures will be further strengthened to ensure that citizens can perform their religious obligations with peace and comfort.
At the conclusion of the meeting, a strong commitment was reaffirmed to promote peace, brotherhood, religious harmony, and national unity in the district.
