Deputy Commissioner Khushab, Dr. Jahanzeb Hussain Laba, visited the Ramadan Sasta Bazaar established at Model Bazaar Jauharabad to review arrangements and facilities being provided to citizens during the holy month of Ramadan. Officials of the Model Bazaar administration were also present on the occasion.
Speaking during the visit, the Deputy Commissioner said that on the directives of Chief Minister Punjab, Maryam Nawaz Sharif, special stalls of essential food items have been set up to provide maximum relief to citizens during Ramadan. He stated that the purpose of establishing the Ramadan Sasta Bazaar is to ensure the availability of essential commodities at affordable prices for fasting citizens.
Dr. Jahanzeb Hussain Laba directed the concerned authorities to strictly implement the orders of the Chief Minister and ensure that essential items including sugar, flour, meat, fruits, vegetables, rice, pulses, and other daily necessities are available at prices lower than the open market. He highlighted that essential commodities at the Sasta Bazaar are being offered at a 10 percent discount compared to the general market rates.
He further emphasized that, under the instructions of the Chief Minister Punjab, high-quality and standard food items are being provided at the Ramadan Sasta Bazaar. He warned that no negligence in this regard would be tolerated and that 100 percent implementation of the Chief Minister’s directives would be ensured.
The Deputy Commissioner also issued instructions to make the security arrangements at the Ramadan Sasta Bazaar completely foolproof to facilitate citizens in a safe and organized environment.
