
Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar says the government is fully vigilant and making efforts for de-escalation between the US and Iran.
Responding to the points raised by the leader of the opposition in Senate today, he said a briefing was given to the parliamentary leaders yesterday on the regional situation.
Meanwhile, the Senate was informed that one hundred thousand laptops are being provided to the University students in the fourth phase of the Prime Minister’s Youth Laptop Scheme.
Minister of State for Education Wajiha Qamar told the house during question hour that six hundred thousand laptops have already been distributed amongst the students under the Prime Minister’s laptop scheme.
She told the house that a robust campaign has been launched in the federal capital to bring out-of-school children into the schools.
The Senate passed the National Accountability Amendment Bill, 2026.
It was moved by Mohammad Abdul Qadir.
Taking the floor, Leader of the House Ishaq Dar said the treasury benches supported the amendment bill, as prima facie it seeks to improve the existing legislation. He noted that the bill now provides two rights of appeal. He further emphasized that the courts are independent and that every matter should not be politicized.
