
A graceful literary event was organized under the auspices of Takhayyul Foundation and Urdu Virsa in memory of the renowned poetess and distinguished literary figure, Samina Syed. The ceremony was arranged with special dedication and support from Musarrat Kalanchvi, and was attended by a large number of women associated with literature and journalism.
The event was presided over by prominent writer Salma Awan, while Syeda Shawwal Raza, daughter of Samina Syed, also attended the gathering held in remembrance of her mother.
Musarrat Kalanchvi delivered the opening remarks, warmly welcoming the participants and paying tribute to the literary contributions of Samina Syed. The proceedings were conducted by Kanwal Behzad.
Distinguished guests included notable literary personalities such as Bilqees Riaz, Neelam Ahmed Bashir, Nosheen Naqvi, Dr. Parveen Khan, and Ambreen Farooq. Other participants included Dr. Fazilat Bano, Sadia Qureshi, Qurratulain Shoaib, Naveen Roma, Farah Hashmi, Shaheen Zaidi, Syeda Atrit Batool Naqvi, Tasneem Jafri, Fatima Sherwani, Rukhsana Akbar, Safia Ishaq, Shafaq Mustafa, Rubina Shaheen, Nazia Butt, Rehana Usmani, Saima Sabeeh, Shaheen Ashraf, Rozina Zarish, Ghazala Mansoor, Zarqa Fatima, Wafa Azhar, and Nabeela Akbar.
Most of the speakers shared their thoughts about Samina Syed, recalling cherished memories spent with her, which brought many participants to tears. The speakers highlighted various aspects of her personality and appreciated her remarkable contributions to literature. They emphasized that such gatherings not only keep the memories of departed souls alive but also serve as a bridge to connect the younger generation with their literary heritage.
The ceremony concluded with a collective prayer for the eternal peace of Samina Syed.
