
Under the revolutionary agricultural initiatives of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, an inaugural ceremony for the wheat harvesting season was held at the farmhouse of Malik Nawaz Wadhal in Mitha Tiwana. Deputy Commissioner Khushab, Dr. Jahanzeb Hussain Labar, attended the event as the chief guest.
The Deputy Commissioner was warmly welcomed with the beats of traditional drums. Assistant Commissioner Khushab, Chaudhry Ziaullah, was also present on the occasion. Both the Deputy Commissioner and the Assistant Commissioner were presented with traditional turbans, reflecting the rich cultural heritage of Mitha Tiwana.
The ceremony commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran. Addressing the gathering, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Jahanzeb Hussain Labar stated that agriculture plays a backbone role in the economy and remains a top priority of the Chief Minister of Punjab. He highlighted that the Chief Minister has provided billions of rupees in subsidies to farmers in the form of solar systems, fertilizers, Kisan Cards, tractor schemes, and other initiatives, which clearly demonstrate her strong commitment and support for the farming community.
He further stated that, in accordance with the directions of the Chief Minister, the Government of Punjab will procure wheat from farmers in the year 2026.
Later, the Deputy Commissioner Khushab and the Assistant Commissioner formally inaugurated the harvesting by cutting wheat in the fields.
On this occasion, CEO Health Dr. Ahmed Khan, officers from various departments, Malik Nawaz Wadhal, President of Kisan Ittehad Malik Ismatullah, farmers, and a large number of local residents were also present.
