Commissioner Sargodha Division, Hafiz Shaukat Ali, paid a special visit to District Khushab, where he reviewed the ongoing beautification projects aimed at improving the city’s appearance, arrangements for Muharram processions, rainwater drainage measures, and the progress of the district’s drainage system projects.
During the visit, the Commissioner inspected the ongoing beautification work at Kalma Chowk and Tehsil Office Road, Khushab, being carried out under the Punjab Development Program. On the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Khushab, Dr. Jahanzeb Hussain Laber, briefed him on the ongoing development projects in the district and the measures taken for the routes of Muharram-ul-Haram processions.
Commissioner Hafiz Shaukat Ali directed the concerned officials to ensure the use of high-quality materials in all beautification projects and emphasized that no compromise would be made on quality standards. He also instructed officials associated with the Punjab Development Program to complete all beautification and development works within the stipulated timeframe.
The Commissioner further directed the Deputy Commissioner to maintain daily monitoring and strict oversight of the beautification projects being executed under the directives of the Chief Minister of Punjab to ensure their timely and quality completion.
Later, Commissioner Hafiz Shaukat Ali visited Kabli Gate, one of the main routes of Muharram processions. He instructed the concerned departments to clear all major and minor procession routes before the commencement of Muharram. He also ordered immediate repair and maintenance work, proper sanitation measures, and the removal or correction of hanging electricity wires along the procession routes.
Emphasizing the importance of effective rainwater management, the Commissioner directed the authorities to take immediate measures for the swift drainage of accumulated rainwater so that the public would not face any inconvenience. He also instructed the Deputy Commissioner to personally supervise the ongoing drainage system project.
Among those present during the visit were Assistant Commissioner Khushab, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Ghazala Kanwal, CEO Municipal Committee Khushab Sundas Rabail, and officers from various relevant departments.
