Students from the Department of Criminology at the University of Sargodha paid a study visit to the Criminal Image Gallery to gain practical insight into crime investigation, criminal record management, and modern investigative techniques.

During the visit, SP Investigation Sargodha, Imran Abbas Chadhar, briefed the students on the functioning of the Criminal Image Gallery, the organisation of its database, and the latest scientific methods used for identifying criminals.

He explained that modern policing and criminal investigations are increasingly relying on information technology and scientific evidence rather than traditional investigative methods. The Criminal Image Gallery maintains a comprehensive visual and digital database of dangerous criminals, proclaimed offenders, habitual offenders, and gang members.

He further highlighted that the gallery plays a vital role in the swift identification and arrest of suspects by using crime scene evidence, witness accounts, and advanced identification techniques, thereby enhancing the effectiveness of law enforcement investigations.
