Commissioner Sargodha Division, Hafiz Shaukat Ali, paid a detailed visit to the Safe City Authority Control Room to review the law and order situation, security arrangements, and monitoring system for the Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS). Regional Police Officer (RPO) Shahzad Asif Khan and District Police Officer (DPO) Tauqeer Muhammad Naeem accompanied him during the visit.
The Commissioner inspected the state-of-the-art monitoring system, the network of CCTV cameras, live surveillance of processions and religious gatherings, traffic management, and emergency response arrangements. Officials briefed him on the special security measures adopted for the occasion, surveillance of sensitive locations, and the coordination among various departments to ensure effective security.
Hafiz Shaukat Ali directed the concerned authorities to maintain continuous monitoring of all processions and gatherings, remain fully alert to deal with any emergency situation, and ensure close coordination among all departments for the efficient performance of their duties.
He stated that the protection of the lives and property of citizens is the top priority of the Government of Punjab and that all available resources are being utilized to ensure the peaceful observance of the Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS). Appreciating the performance of the Safe City Authority officials and staff, he instructed them to continue round-the-clock monitoring to provide mourners with a safe and peaceful environment.
Later, the Commissioner, accompanied by the RPO, Deputy Commissioner, and DPO, conducted a detailed inspection of the route of the main Chehlum procession. He reviewed security arrangements, cleanliness, lighting, barricading, traffic management, and other logistical measures along the route. He directed the relevant officers to ensure that all arrangements were completed on time and maintained to the highest standard.
The Commissioner emphasized that all departments should work in close coordination to facilitate mourners, maintain smooth traffic flow, and preserve law and order so that all Chehlum-related events are held in a peaceful, secure, and well-organized environment.
