Deputy Commissioner Khushab Dr. Jahanzeb Hussain Labar inspected a training exercise conducted by Rescue 1122 at DHQ Hospital Joharabad to assess preparedness for emergency situations.
Medical Superintendent DHQ Hospital Joharabad Dr. Ammar Haider Bhutta, District Emergency Officer Rescue 1122 Khushab Ali Hussain and duty doctors were present on the occasion.
The Deputy Commissioner reviewed arrangements for timely response to emergencies, fire safety measures, preparedness and the training session. Rescue 1122 District Emergency Officer Ali Hussain briefed him on the hospital’s fire safety arrangements, including the internal standpipe system, fire alarm system, fire wall and other safety measures.
Dr. Jahanzeb Hussain Labar also visited various wards and departments of the hospital. Medical Superintendent Dr. Ammar Bhutta gave him a detailed briefing on the availability of medicines and medical facilities being provided to patients.
The Deputy Commissioner inspected the Emergency Department, Outpatient Department, inpatient services, wards, Children’s Ward, male and female wards and other sections of the hospital. He directed the Medical Superintendent to ensure uninterrupted availability of medicines required in the Emergency Department and other sections.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Jahanzeb Hussain Labar said that the Punjab government’s free medicine vision under Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif would be implemented in letter and spirit. He said providing quality and timely healthcare facilities to patients was among the top priorities of the Punjab government.
During his visit, the Deputy Commissioner also interacted with patients in different wards and obtained information about the provision of free medicines. He reviewed cleanliness arrangements at the hospital and directed the Medical Superintendent to take further effective measures to improve cleanliness and hygiene standards.
