PML-N Vice President and former Punjab Chief Minister Hamza Shehbaz Sharif visited Ministry of Information and Broadcasting’s Digital Communication Department (DCD) in Islamabad.
Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, Federal Secretary for Information Ashfaq Ahmad Khalil and other senior officials of the ministry welcomed Hamza Shehbaz Sharif.
The Information Minister gave the PML-N Vice President a detailed briefing on the various sections of the Digital Communication Department, its scope of work and operational activities.
He said digital media has become an effective means of disseminating information and maintaining communication with the public in the present era.
The Information Minister said countering negative propaganda and fabricated news against Pakistan is an important responsibility of the Digital Communication Department.
He said highlighting the government’s positive initiatives and the national narrative on digital platforms in line with modern requirements is an urgent need of the hour. He said Digital Communication Department and PTV Digital are playing an important role in achieving this objective.
Hamza Shehbaz Sharif expressed keen interest in the ongoing activities of various sections of the Digital Communication Department.
The PML-N Vice President said digital media is an important means of ensuring timely access to information for the public and effectively highlighting government initiatives.
Hamza Shehbaz Sharif said effective use of digital platforms can help project Pakistan’s positive image and communicate the national narrative to the world.
He appreciated the initiatives being undertaken by the Ministry of Information in the field of digital communication and the use of modern technology.
