Additional Deputy Commissioner Headquarters Khushab Ghazala Kanwal chaired a meeting at the Conference Hall to review environmental protection measures, anti-smog activities, and efforts to control pollution across the district. The meeting was attended by Assistant Director Local Government Israr Ahmed Qureshi, the District Environment Officer, DSP Zulfiqar Ahmed, and officers from the Agriculture, Transport and Traffic Police departments, among other relevant officials.

During the meeting, the District Environment Officer briefed the Additional Deputy Commissioner on ongoing anti-smog activities, action taken against violations of environmental laws, and the environmental situation in different areas of the district. He also provided an update on environmental conditions in mining and forest areas and measures being taken to control pollution.
On the occasion, ADC Headquarters Ghazala Kanwal directed the concerned officers to conduct regular inspections of all mines, factories and industrial units operating in forest and agricultural areas and ensure strict compliance with environmental laws. She stressed that all necessary measures must be taken to protect public and residential areas from the harmful effects of environmental pollution.

She made it clear that no NOC would be issued for public places without fulfilling the required environmental standards. The ADC further directed the District Environment Officer to strengthen the monitoring system in view of environmental changes and the increasing impact of pollution, and to take immediate measures to maintain a clean environment across different areas.

Ghazala Kanwal said that providing the people of Khushab with a clean, healthy and pleasant environment was among the key priorities of the district administration. She directed all relevant departments to ensure effective measures through close coordination and a comprehensive strategy.
