Former Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Education, District Layyah, Dr. Abdul Qayyum Khan, has been honoured with special awards in recognition of his outstanding educational and administrative services. He was declared a “True Hero of the Nation” and a “Hero of Education” for his remarkable contributions to the promotion of education, provision of better educational facilities to students, and improvement of the overall academic environment in District Layyah.
In recognition of his exemplary leadership, outstanding services and remarkable performance in the education sector, Dr. Abdul Qayyum Khan received the “True Hero of the Nation” award from the Punjab Minister for Education. The Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Layyah, and the District Press Club Layyah also acknowledged his services and presented him with honours.
Under the leadership of Dr. Abdul Qayyum Khan, 241 solar-powered schools were established in District Layyah, while 42 new classrooms were constructed. Moreover, 23 water filtration plants were installed at schools to ensure the availability of clean drinking water. As many as 51,000 school uniforms were distributed among students across the district. During the annual examinations, District Layyah secured six board positions and also achieved fourth position among all districts of Punjab in terms of educational performance.
Educational circles have appreciated the initiatives undertaken under the leadership of Dr. Abdul Qayyum Khan, saying that these measures not only helped improve the basic infrastructure of schools but also played an important role in providing students with a quality and conducive learning environment. The honours conferred upon him are being described as recognition of his valuable educational services and dedicated efforts for a brighter future for the younger generation.
