Senior journalist and columnist Zaheeruddin Babar has successfully defended his PhD research dissertation at the Department of Media Studies, The Islamia University of Bahawalpur. Following his successful defense, the external examiner declared him eligible for the award of the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree.
The dissertation defense was attended by Dr. Malik Adnan, Chairman, Department of Media Studies; Dr. Shafaq Manzoor, Supervisor; and other senior faculty members. Professor Dr. Sajjad Ahmed Paracha, Chairperson, Department of Communication Studies, served as the external examiner and evaluated the research dissertation.
During the defense, Zaheeruddin Babar presented detailed arguments in support of his research and provided comprehensive and well-reasoned answers to the questions raised by the external examiner. The question-and-answer session covered various aspects of the research, challenges faced by male and female journalists, issues confronting the journalism profession, rapid changes in the media industry, and emerging trends in the field.
The external examiner appreciated Zaheeruddin Babar’s research efforts, command of the subject, and the well-reasoned arguments presented during the defense. He termed his performance satisfactory and declared him eligible for the award of the PhD degree upon successful completion of the defense.
