Acting President Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani has emphasized the need for sustained efforts to ensure global peace.
Addressing a ceremony in Lahore today, Yousuf Raza Gilani stressed the need to address emerging global challenges, including technological advancement and climate change by adapting to evolving global realities.
Highlighting Pakistan’s role in promoting peace and dialogue internationally, the Acting President mentioned Pakistan’s proactive diplomacy to promote regional stability, including initiatives to reduce tensions and build trust between Iran and the United States.
Talking about the Pahalgam false flag operation, Yousuf Raza Gilani said that Pakistan is a responsible nuclear state, and although India not only carried out an attack but also unilaterally revoked the Indus Waters Treaty, Pakistan acted strictly in self-defense as a nuclear state.
He noted that Pakistan’s armed forces and leadership sent a clear message of restraint and responsibility, while its call for an independent inquiry into the Pahalgam incident gained international recognition.
