A special meeting was held at the Noorpur Thal Press Club in connection with World Press Freedom Day under the chairmanship of President Seth Samar Sultan. A large number of local journalists participated enthusiastically in the event.

The session began with the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by speeches highlighting the importance of World Press Freedom Day. The speakers stated that free and responsible journalism is a fundamental requirement of any civilized society. They added that journalists act as the eyes and ears of society, playing a vital role in bringing facts to light and keeping the public informed.

President Press Club Seth Samar Sultan, in his address, said that journalism is facing numerous challenges in the current era; however, the journalist community continues to fulfill its professional responsibilities with dedication. He reaffirmed the commitment to uphold truth, impartiality, and public interest at all times.

Other speakers also expressed their views, emphasizing the need to protect journalists’ rights, promote press freedom, and further improve professional standards.

At the end of the meeting, a special prayer was offered for the progress and stability of the country and for the welfare of the journalist community.
