Commissioner Sargodha, Hafiz Shaukat Ali, and Deputy Commissioner Hussain Ahmed Raza Chaudhry visited District Jail Shahpur on the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha. Assistant Commissioner Shahpur Yusra Suhail Butt and other officials accompanied them during the visit.
The Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner met with the inmates and extended Eid-ul-Adha greetings to them. Sweets and gifts were also distributed among the prisoners so they could share in the festive celebrations of Eid.
During the visit, Commissioner Sargodha inaugurated the Welfare Café established inside the jail. While reviewing the ongoing welfare and rehabilitation programs, he stated that prisons are not merely places of punishment but centers of reform and rehabilitation, where efforts are being made for the personality development and betterment of inmates.
The Superintendent Jail, during a briefing, informed the visiting officials that vocational training is being provided to prisoners so they may secure respectable employment opportunities after their release.
