On the special directives of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, Provincial Minister for Health and Population Welfare Khawaja Imran Nazir paid a special visit to District Khushab on the occasion of Youm-e-Ashura to review security and administrative arrangements.

He was accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Dr. Jahanzeb Hussain Labar and District Police Officer Dr. Ammara Shirazi. During the visit, the provincial minister inspected the central Ashura processions in Khushab and Jauharabad and reviewed the security measures and administrative arrangements made for mourners.

Khawaja Imran Nazir met with the organizers of the processions and religious gatherings and discussed the arrangements for Ashura. The organizers expressed their appreciation to Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif for ensuring comprehensive security and administrative support during Muharram.

The provincial minister expressed satisfaction over the arrangements made across District Khushab for Muharram-ul-Haram. He stated that, under the special instructions of the Chief Minister, his visit aimed to personally assess the Ashura arrangements. He added that foolproof security measures had been implemented throughout Punjab to ensure the peaceful observance of Youm-e-Ashura.

He further said that, following the Chief Minister’s directives, special arrangements had been made for Sabeels providing chilled and sweet drinking water, as well as the distribution of Langar for mourners and participants.

Khawaja Imran Nazir also appreciated the vital role played by religious scholars from all schools of thought in maintaining peace and harmony during Muharram. He thanked them for their cooperation and urged everyone to promote the message of peace, unity, and brotherhood, emphasizing that any attempt to spread unrest or hatred would not be tolerated.

During the visit, DPO Dr. Ammara Shirazi gave a detailed briefing on the security plan, traffic management, deployment of police personnel, and the overall law and order situation.

The provincial minister praised the professional performance of the police and other relevant departments and directed all institutions to utilize every available resource to ensure the protection of citizens’ lives and property and maintain peace throughout Youm-e-Ashura.

He also inspected the Sabeels established by the District Administration on the instructions of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif and interacted with the people present there to receive their feedback regarding the arrangements.
