Deputy Commissioner Khushab Dr. Jahanzeb Hussain Labar visited the Chief Minister Punjab Electric Green Buses Terminal at Joharabad General Bus Stand and reviewed in detail the travel facilities being provided to citizens, bus charging points, the procedure for issuing travel tokens to passengers, and other administrative arrangements and records.
Secretary Regional Transport Authority (RTA) Malik Muhammad Tahir, terminal managers and officers of the concerned departments were also present. The RTA Secretary and terminal managers briefed the Deputy Commissioner on the terminal’s administrative affairs, operational status of the electric buses and facilities being provided to passengers.
Secretary RTA Malik Muhammad Tahir stated that free, comfortable and environment-friendly transport facilities were being provided to the people of Khushab through the Green Electric Buses. He added that measures would soon be taken to further improve the terminal and provide additional facilities to passengers. A permanent boundary wall would also be constructed around all four sides of the terminal.
Dr. Jahanzeb Hussain Labar directed the concerned officers to immediately initiate development and administrative work for improving the Green Electric Bus Terminal, ensuring cleanliness and enhancing other facilities for citizens so that better transport services could be provided to the public.
Later, the Deputy Commissioner visited Sargodha Road, Khairpur and adjoining areas and inspected the site earmarked for a green belt and park near the River Jhelum under the Punjab Development Programme and Beautification Plan. He sought details from the concerned officers regarding the proposed green belt and park project.
The Deputy Commissioner said that the establishment of a green belt and park near the River Jhelum was aimed at enhancing the beauty of the city, improving the environment and providing citizens with healthy and quality recreational opportunities. The Chief Executive Officer, District Council, was also present on the occasion.
