The United Nations says Yemen’s warring sides have failed to reach an agreement to extend a nationwide ceasefire.

In a statement, after the deadline to extend the agreement-expired, the UN’s envoy to Yemen Hans Grundberg called on all sides to refrain from acts of provocation as the talks continue.

The UN Envoy regretted that no agreement could be reached today.

He urged the parties to fulfil their obligation to the Yemeni people to pursue every avenue for peace.
