Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, affirmed that the Kingdom’s joint presidency—alongside the French Republic—of the High-Level International Conference on the Peaceful Settlement of the Question of Palestine and the Implementation of the Two-State Solution reflects Saudi Arabia’s firm and principled stance on the Palestinian cause.
In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), Prince Faisal reiterated the Kingdom’s unwavering support for the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people and its ongoing efforts to achieve a just, comprehensive, and lasting peace. He stressed that such peace must guarantee the establishment of an independent Palestinian state based on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
His Highness further emphasized that Saudi Arabia, under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and the close guidance of His Royal Highness Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, continues to prioritize the establishment of peace and stability in the Middle East.
“Guided by its steadfast principles, the Kingdom remains committed to advancing international peace and security through its diplomatic initiatives and sustained engagement,” Prince Faisal said. “We seek to end the prolonged suffering of the Palestinian people, bring an end to the ongoing cycle of violence, and work toward a fair resolution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict that has taken countless innocent lives and destabilized the region.”
The high-level conference, co-chaired by Saudi Arabia and France, is taking place this week at the United Nations headquarters in New York City, with wide international participation. The event aims to reinvigorate global efforts toward implementing the two-state solution in accordance with international resolutions and enabling Palestinians to realize their right to self-determination, thus fostering regional peace, stability, and prosperity.
Prince Faisal also highlighted that the conference supports the efforts of the Global Alliance for the Implementation of the Two-State Solution, an initiative launched in September 2024 by Saudi Arabia, the Kingdom of Norway, and the European Union. Additionally, it complements the work of the Joint Arab-Islamic Ministerial Committee, which seeks to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people and restore their inalienable rights.
