Pakistan has expressed concerns over violations of Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

At the UN Security Council briefing on the political and humanitarian situation in Syria, Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the UN Asim Iftikhar Ahmad said the recent Israeli airstrikes in Suweida, Daraa, and Damascus, and reports of military activity in the occupied Syrian Golan, are clear violations of international law and the UN Charter.

He said these actions undermine regional stability and obstruct Syria’s recovery, emphasizing relevant Security Council resolutions and the 1974 Disengagement Agreement must be fully respected.

Asim Iftikhar Ahmad reaffirmed Pakistan’s strong solidarity with the Syrian people saying it remains committed to a peaceful, inclusive, and sovereign Syria that reflects the will of its citizens.
