
Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Pakistan Albert Khorev has emphasized the strong friendship between Pakistan and Russia.
He expressed these views while officially handing over humanitarian aid to National Disaster Management Authority at a ceremony held at Islamabad Airport today.
A special aircraft of the Russian government transported thirty thousand kilograms of aid from Moscow to Islamabad for people of Pakistan.
Senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the National Disaster Management Authority and the Pakistan Red Crescent Society were in attendance at the airport.
The Russian Ambassador recalled humanitarian support to Pakistan by his country following the two earthquakes in 2005 and the floods in 2022, stating that this latest shipment of humanitarian aid is intended to assist relief efforts in Pakistan.
The Additional Foreign Secretary for Europe, Ambassador Shafqat Ali Khan, expressed heartfelt thanks to the Russian Government and its people for their humanitarian aid.
He noted this support symbolizes the strong friendship and solidarity shared between our two countries.
Later, the National Disaster Management Authority transferred the aid to the Pakistan Red Crescent Society for further distribution.
