The Shawal moon has been sighted in Lahore and Islamabad, with the official announcement of Eid-ul-Fitr to be made by the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee. The committee’s meeting to confirm the moon sighting is currently ongoing in Islamabad.

Chairman of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad, is presiding over the meeting, while zonal committees are also convening in their respective cities.

The Bohra community in Pakistan is celebrating Eid-ul-Fitr today, along with the leader of the Awami National Party, Aimal Wali Khan, who has also declared today as the day for Eid celebrations. Meanwhile, several Gulf countries, including Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, are observing Eid-ul-Fitr today. Eid is expected to be celebrated on March 31 in various European countries, including the UK and Canada.
