Pakistan’s rising snooker star Ahsan Ramzan has advanced to the semi-finals of the Under-21 category in the ongoing IBSF World Masters, Under-17, Under-21 & Men’s 6-Red Snooker Championship 2025, being held in Manama, Bahrain.

In a dominant quarter-final performance, Ahsan defeated India’s Mayur Garg 4-0 in a one-sided affair. The young Pakistani cueist displayed composure and control throughout the match, with frame scores of 103(58)-42(32), 82(35)-0, 56-39, 74(48)-23.

Earlier in the pre-quarterfinal, Ahsan faced fellow Pakistani cueist Hasnain Akhtar and emerged victorious with a convincing 4-1 win. The frame scores were 70-54, 107(99)-0, 0-72(60), 106(69)-32, 64(37)-6, highlighting Ahsan’s consistent break-building ability.

Meanwhile, Pakistan’s run in the 6-Red category came to an end after all remaining players were knocked out at various stages. In the Last 30 round, veteran cueist Muhammad Asif lost a close contest to Iraq’s Firas Kamil Shubha 3-4. Shahid Aftab went down 2-4 against Hong Kong’s Chow Hon Man, while Ahsan Ramzan edged past Scotland’s Ayan Iqbal 4-3 in a thrilling match.

In the Last 16 round, Firas Kamil Shubha once again proved to be a hurdle for Pakistan, defeating Shahid Aftab 4-3 in a tense encounter. Ahsan Ramzan’s impressive run in the 6-Red event also ended with a narrow 3-4 defeat to India’s Aditya Mehta.

With Pakistan’s journey in the 6-Red category concluded, the focus now shifts to Ahsan Ramzan’s promising campaign in the U21 championship, as he eyes a spot in the final.
