
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has applauded the noble initiative and efforts of the Jamaat-e-Islami Chief and Al-Khidmat Foundation in sending relief supplies to the victims of Gaza.
He made these remarks during a telephonic conversation with the Jamaat-e-Islami Chief Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman on Saturday.
The Prime Minister said that while the Pakistani government continued to provide relief supplies to the oppressed brothers and sisters of Palestine in Gaza through diplomatic channels, Al-Khidmat Foundation ensured the delivery of relief supplies to Gaza by launching a nationwide campaign.
He strongly condemned blockade of aid by Israel for people of Palestine in Gaza, resulting in the food shortage.
He said that Pakistan will continue diplomatic efforts at all levels to end aid blockade by Israel in Gaza and restore the flow of food items to Palestinian brothers and sisters, including starving children and women.
Shehbaz Sharif strongly condemned the increasing inhumane Zionist atrocities in Gaza and said that Pakistan will continue to provide diplomatic and moral support to the oppressed Palestinian brothers and sisters who are victims of Zionist persecution.
He further pledged that Pakistan will continue to be the voice of its Palestinian brothers and sisters at the global community and every forum in the world, raising its voice against the inhuman atrocities being committed against them.
In his remarks, the Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami said that Palestinian leaders contacted him and appealed to the Prime Minister of Pakistan to play a leading role in establishing a ceasefire in Gaza and providing food aid.
He said that the Palestinian people and the entire Islamic world have high hopes from Pakistan and its leadership.
Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman called upon the Prime Minister to contact the leaders of Muslim countries especially and play his leading role in this regard.
