
Minister for Law and Justice Azam Nazir Tarar has termed Money laundering as a significant challenge for any country and its economy.
He made these remarks during a seminar titled “Anti-Money Laundering, Challenges and Responsibilities.” In Islamabad today.
The seminar was conducted by National Accountability Bureau in collaboration with Adam Smith International and the British High Commission.
The Minister warned that failure to take strong action against the perpetrators of money laundering would not only harm the national economy but would also distort Pakistan’s image in the eyes of the world.
Azam Nazir Tarar urged all relevant agencies to carry out their responsibilities with dedication and efforts towards increasing public respect and trust in these institutions.
In his remarks, NAB Chairman, Lt. Gen (Retd) Nazir Ahmad emphasized all agencies to organize such events periodically, benefiting from each other’s expertise, experience, performance, and successes, thereby enhancing their own capabilities.
