
As per the Prime Minister’s directive, NDMA is providing full support to the provincial government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Provincial Disaster Management Authority.
NDMA team is present in Peshawar to assist and monitor the relief operations.
NDMA, armed forces and welfare organizations have dispatched relief supplies to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa including ambulances, generators, blankets, tents, dewatering pumps, rations and powdered milk.
NDMA is maintaining round-the-clock monitoring of all ongoing operations and coordinating with relevant institutions to ensure effective emergency response.
According to latest statistics, 328 people have died while 143 injured in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa due to heavy rains, floods, landslides and lightning strikes.
The countrywide death toll due to rain related incidents stands at 344.
Authorities caution that in the event of further rains, the risk of additional landslides remains high.
The NDMA has urged the citizens to remain vigilant, take precautionary measures during heavy rain and flooding, and avoid unnecessary travel to vulnerable areas.
Tourists have been especially advised to refrain from visiting northern regions for the next five to six days to ensure their safety.
